A Short Biography of Martyr Hussein Kharrazi:
Words of the Leader on Martyr Kharrazi ( Part 3)

In operation Karabala-5, when the delivery of food to the troops got disrupted as the enemy’s artillery was firing at its peak capacity, Haj Hussein took it upon himself to resolve the issue, but, as a result of a mortar explosion on February 27, 1987 he fell martyr, joining the army of Imam Hussein (PBUH) in the heaven, his Ashurayi soul becoming a pilgrim of Karbala. He was, upon his own will, buried in the Martyrs’ Section of the graveyard among his basiji fellowship.
The Leader of Islamic Revolution Sayyed Ali Khamenei issued a statement on his martyrdom, which is given below.

In the name of God, the compassionate and the merciful
The great commander of Islam, the flag-bearer of holy war and martyrdom, the martyr brother, Haj Hussein Kharrazi, has left us to reunite with Allah Almighty. He journeys to the vast firmament of martyrdom and will be protected by divine compassion having accumulated an impressive provision of faith, piety and holy struggle and made relentless efforts in the way of Allah and incessantly fought the enemies of Allah. He who had reached the summit of dignity and honor during six productive years in the war, has now reached the highest summit of martyrdom. He who had responded to his Imam’s call of “Is there any one to help me?” will now have the privilege of finally meeting his master, Imam Hussein (PBUH); and he who was always part of Imam Hussein’s proud army and journeyed speedily ahead of his fellowship toward the land of the beloved, has reached his eternal home at last and will be blessed with companions of the beloved. Indeed, he has been rewarded justly for his sincere jihad and joined the circle of martyrs and the righteous. The life and fate of this dearest of martyrs and those of the thousands of pure souls who have embarked on this journey, form a glowing page in the book of this nation’s history; a nation who offers its dearest sons in the way of enforcement of commandments of God, the sovereignty of the religion of God, the defense of the oppressed and battling the oppressors; a nation whose proud youth disregards all the materialistic cares and steps into the combat zone to sacrifice and fight with all its might and sacrifice their lives for this cause. Such a nation would overcome all obstacles and brings all enemies to their knees. Having endured the imposed war for six years until now, we will see the signs of the aforesaid blessed fate and most surely the Divine victory in the battle awaits this most faithful, self-sacrificing of nations.
