حالا ال جی، در گوشی‌های هوشمند اپتیموس خود این امکان را به صورت سه بعدی فراهم کرده است. ال جی اپتیوموس اولین نمونه سه بعدی از فناوری AR به شمار می‌رود.

شرکت‌های ال جی و  Wikitude اعلام کرده‌اند در دیتا بیس این نرم افزار نام 100 میلیون مکان ذخیره خواهد شد. همچنین این نرم افزار به 12 زبان زنده دنیا در اختیار کاربران قرار خواهد گرفت.

اگر از دارندگان اپتیموس 3 بعدی هستید خوشحال باشید چون این نرم افزار در ژوئن سال جاری به صورت رایگان عرضه می‌شود.

Today LG announced that their Optimus 3D Android smartphone will come with an exclusive augmented reality browser. The Korean company has collaborated with Wikitude to create an app that allows reportedly unprecedented interaction and engagement with your current environment. Yeah, right!

You see, while regular augmented reality apps like Layar running on regular smartphones only display overlapped objects, the stereoscopic screen of the LG Optimus 3D will actually show places of interest, landmarks and objects in 3D adding some depth to the whole experience. If you think about it, this is probably one of the coolest applications of that screen. But we bet, much like with other augmented reality apps, its coolness factor won"t last more than five minutes.

The information database of Wikitude 3D (that’s the name of the new app, Wikitude 2D has been around for some time) covers over 100 million locations around the world. The new 3D reality browser will supports 12 languages and more should be added in the near future.

As far as augmented reality apps go, you can"t beat a 3D screen, that"s for sure. Users will be able to download Wikiture 3D from the LG World appstore in June. The good news is that it’s going to be free. Useful? Well, we doubt it.

شاید با فناوری AR بتوانید نام مکان‌های ناشناخته را متوجه بشوید ولی اطلاعاتی از میزان آلودگی هوا بدست نخواهید آورد!

دو تن از فارغ التحصیلان دانشگاه نیویورک به نام های Nien Lam و  Sue Ngo تی شرت جدیدی طراحی کرده اند که میزان کربن مونوکسید محیط را اندازه می‌گیرد و اگر آلودگی محیط بیشتر از حد مجاز شود، شش‌های روی تی شرت آبی می‌شوند.

روی این تی شرت ها تصویر شش و یا قلب دوخته شده است که با آلوده شدن محیط مویرگ‌های آن به رنگ‌‍ آبی  در می‌آیند.  این تی شرت ها می‌تواند به افراد سیگاری نشان دهد که اعتیاد آنها چقدر برای دیگران زیان آور است. همچنین بیماران تنفسی می‌توانند با داشتن این تی شرت بیشتر مراقب سلامتی خود باشند.

We all know pollution can be quite unhealthy, and the Warning Signs carbon monoxide-detecting T-shirt serves as a fashionable reminder of that.

Developed by two New York University graduate students, Nien Lam and Sue Ngo, the functional shirt turns from pink to blue when the offending gas comes into contact with it. In the two designs created--a heart and pair of lungs--blue, vein-like patterns appear on the pink organs whenever levels of the poisonous gas get high.

While we"re not sure if the shirts still work after a few washes, this odd invention could be quite popular, should it ever be sold. Of course, the question remains: What do you do once the shirt tells you you"re breathing in unhealthy levels of carbon monoxide? Presumably, it"s then time to put on a gas mask--or this air-purifying gow.
